The US Represented MUSE-Letter for November 6-November 12, 2016

Habitually Distracted: Sunday, November 6:

Detectorists: The Little Show that Does-Gary Walker

detectorists2BBC 4’s Detectorists shouldn’t work, but it does. With this series, it feels like we’re watching real people living actual lives, whether they’re combing the English countryside for artifacts, gathering at the pub, or snooping into each others’ lives. In the end, these are the things that make the show so watchable. The best part of Detectorists, though, is that it’s a comedy that doesn’t seem to know it’s a comedy.

Tuesday, November 8: An Open Letter to Joe Walsh and Followers-Jerome Parent

jerome2Jerome Parent addresses the threats of violence by those disappointed in the presidential election outcome. He thinks that there are many ex-military who will stand up and defend the country against anyone who tries to change the government through violence rather than the ballot.

Tuesday, November 8: Local Time-DeLyn Martineau

punkin2This week, DeLyn Martineau features “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Colorado!” an article co-written by Sherrie Horn and Nina Gamotis. The article covers the Great Pumpkin Weigh-off last weekend in Old Colorado City. Filled with colorful descriptions of their adventures during the fall festival, this delightful article shares a fun perspective of one of Colorado’s fun holiday events.
