NARCISSUS, Cheri Arfsten, July 2011. This is one of the last sights I laid eyes on at Hearst Castle. It is just one of a few indoor pools on the property, part of a series of pools connected by tunneled channel-like waterways. Standing there, marveling at the expert craftsmanship of the people who laid the millions of tiny tiles that form the hundreds of mosaics below and above water, is something I will never forget.

SAVANNAH STEPS, Cheri Arfsten. This picture was taken in Savannah, Georgia, right by the Savannah River. The city is heavy with history, and you can physically feel it when you are down below.

VOYEUR, Cheri Arfsten. This was taken in the Chimayo area of New Mexico. The walls surrounding this house / compound must have been at least 10 feet high, and as I was walking along the wall, really wanting to know what was on the other side, I came upon this half open door. For a split second, I thought the nude statue was a real person and I was really embarrassed for us both.

MAGNOLIA, Bobby Vasquez. This was taken at Colorado’s Palmer Park. Bobby and Magnolia love this spot for its view over the Springs and for the chill vibes it offers. Nothing complements a winter’s day better than hiking through the Colorado brush and encountering other men and women of the Mountain State.

*Blue Claw,* Mara Zilkenat, 2013. From close vantage points, nature’s detail, even the carcass of a deceased crayfish, holds incredible beauty.

LONE TERRACE FARMER, Lindsay Deen, Longsheng County, Guangxi, China, May 2008. I stopped to snap the picture, and my traveling companions continued onward without me. Alone, I honored the farmer's toils by capturing the image, and alone, he tended the plants.

AMITABHA STUPA, Eric Stephenson, Sedona, Arizona. The Amitabha Stupa is 36 feet tall and filled with rolls of prayer mantra, grains, medicines, objects of beauty, and even meteorites, all to protect and replenish the five elements of earth, air, fire, water, and space. Consecrated and sacred, the stupa serves as a beacon of compassion designed to overcome the misery and delusion of attachment, all while casting healing prayers for the betterment of mankind.
